I have to agree with spotting those who have given in to the situation and accepted it as a way of life. I saw a man there who I knew was just looking for a free ride and it disgusted me. I saw him get out of his car and head for the cafeteria. Everything about him screamed he didn’t need to be there. It was confirmed when a man asked if we followed him inside. I told him no we weren’t there for the food. We were there taking notes about the conditions and what the needs were for those who were in need. Then I asked the man I knew didn’t really need to be there how long he was homeless. They all laughed and he growled at me and left. Yeah, my question was dripping in sarcasm. But we found two candidates just as we were about to give up and chalk it up to a loss.

Wow this was a very eye-opening journey. I was actually able to see all of the things Mason mentioned about how to tell who has given in to being treated like nothing so they act like nothing. There were some who were rude, one of the guys was real sarcastic but all in all it all worked out for us. I’m glad we found the two we did and I really feel like they are the reason we were there.

It was scary at first but the suffering is so real, so raw. I’m glad Aunt Mary was there because she knew how to deal with them and they naturally respected her. They would say something mean and she’d come back shutting them down right away. She found the two people or recognized the two men we helped and surprisingly there were no women interested in getting any help. It was a real lesson and worthwhile experience.

I team up with Ms. Karen and Ms. Vicki and we go to a social office and talk about foster children. We want to help find homes for them and work on Mason idea of providing a path to self-reliance for those becoming to adults. We look to by land and begin work on this but to start we pick three young people who were turning 18 in less than week. Two females and one male.

I joined Rod on a visit to a homeless shelter and I was really glad to provide psychological help to many of the people and to pull out those we selected to enter our program. I really think this is a step in the right direction and the word is spreading. I have patients who want to get involved just hearing me talk about it. That’s an added bonus if you ask me.

Well hearing that there are so many young people who are homeless especially young people coming out of foster care programs, we decided to focus on assisting them because the streets are getting more and more dangerous for young people with the predators working for the sex slave business around the world. Even Italy is bad taking poor girls from Nigeria, promising them jobs and a path to a better life only to force them into prostitution. Some of the girls are as young as twelve. Life for women has never been more dangerous than it is right now. It’s a breakdown of the human moral structure. It’s bad so if we can save a young person from a life of sexual bondage I think that is a wonderful thing. I really feel like we are doing something real that signifies we are in the service of the true Most High.
