HERA

 

 

Ήρα-Hera is Zeus’ official wife and sister. Although she is an Olympian her sympathy lie with the Titans whom raised her. Her sacred animals are the cow ad peacock. Zeus tricked her, shamed her and she married him. Hera is a supreme goddess and a patron of the sanctity of marriage. She has a special interest in protecting married women and childbirth. marrying him because Zeus was harsh the Olympian backed Hera when she decided to Hera drugged him and other Olympians bound him on a couch. But they argued over what to do next and one of the Hecatoncheires, Briareus, saved rescued him. Zeus hung Hera from the sky with gold chains. Her crying all night was enough for him to release her the following morning after she swore to never rebel again.

*Αθήνα-Athena is the known to be the virgin goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature. She is also Zeus’ daughter but she did not have a mother. She was very brave and fierce in battle. She is the patron of city, handcraft and agriculture. She invented the bridle the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship , and the chariot. She is the embodiment of wisdom, reason, and purity.  She was Zeus’ favorite child.  

Her other names include Minerva, Athina, and Mykene. She was in love with Poseidon and when Medusa, a beautiful goddess, went to her because Poseidon forced himself on her Athena blamed Medusa and turned her into an ugly gorgons.
