I was very badly affected by what I saw in that race special. I grew up in a very racist household and I thought nothing of it until I met Rod’s parents. It was enough to make my parents question their long-time stance on the matter and they are still working on their attitudes about race in particularly black people. Seeing them on television, ads, and in legitimate professions is only helping. I think for a long time they black people weren’t seen in a positive way at all. That is changing but not fast enough if you ask me. It’s not alright to do this to a entire race of people. It’s sickening and nothing to be or feel proud of. I don’t think anyone who is openly racist is proud of it deep down. I wonder how those who call the police on a black person and it results in their death find it difficult to sleep at night. It has to rip away at their soul, it has to. It’s evil and any living person can’t be comfortable knowing they are the reason someone ended up dead. I also don’t know how cops who kill innocent people, live with themselves. How do you look at yourself in the mirror after taking a life, a innocent life? How do they stand themselves? I couldn’t bear to be in the skin I was in if I did something so vile. This is life, way more then just having a view, of a belief. This is taking a life!!! I’m so upset about it. This people live in fear of law enforcement and they have to teach their children to fear them. It’s not all right and any human being who is human knows this isn’t alright.
Ashley, I don't want you to feel as if we are all coming down on you but this attitude you have is affecting my son and the rest of the Gnostic members. We have to speak up about it or we would be just as guilty as all the racist out there that just watch bad things happening and remaining silent. I want you to be happy and settled, I also want my son to be happy and settled. If this is a problem you can't work through I want my son released to find someone that won't feed into the racist views he left his grandparents to escape. Please don't do this to Caleb's children. It's the worse way to respect his legacy which begins with his children.
