Benny, at least you admit this is your problem. Ash do not take this personal Caleb is a hard act to follow.
I’m going to say one of the most memorable moments in my memory was drenched in the ugliness of racism. I decided I wanted no part of racism at home. Do you all notice our first moments in our memory of something life changing occurs within our own family? Have you all noticed that? The people who should love you are the ones who hurt you most. Dad is such a racist I often asked myself how he was ever allowed to be a federal agent. He was a bitter racist, sexist, homophobic verbal abuser. My best friend was black. He asked dad a question once and dad’s response shocked us all. It would have destroyed my friend if not for mom calling Uncle Mike who had a better response to his question. I decided then I wanted to be more like Uncle Mike and go into law enforcement to make sure people like my father didn’t define what law enforcement meant.
Then I realized, after the Black Lives Matter movement how many people are in law enforcement who are racist and once again the course of my life was changed. Racism is a disease eating away at the fiber of this nation because they refuse to treat it properly.
