Well, JR, the truth can set you free but the devastation is clearly long-lasting. I also know how painful secrets and lies can be. Yolanda did a number on me, my son, and my son. She cheated, lied, made me feel like I was nothing. I had never felt like nothing in my life and let me tell you when someone you love is not satisfied with you. Yes, I know she can’t be satisfied with one man and the problem is hers, nevertheless, I always believed I could fix anything. I kept telling myself I could fix it and I lost sight of what it was doing to my son. I was so busy trying to fix his mother I didn’t know how to fix him. I couldn’t see him. I have been able to pick up the pieces of my life and mend the damage my son endured allowing him to pick up the pieces in his life. An angel came into my life and turned my upside-down world right side up. Secrets, withholding information isn’t keeping a secret. A secret is a willful desire to keep something horrible from those closes to you. It’s a hateful act against the ones that are supposed to be loved most. No one and nothing else matters. They will kill to keep the ones they care about from learning what kind of person they truly are. A secret is a lie that is temporarily hidden. A devastating lie. Secrets are always BAD!!!! If you keep something to yourself sometimes you do that to stop love ones from worrying. Sometimes you keep things about you to yourself because it’s safer that way. We all let people in were we feel comfortable having them. I also don’t think it’s wise to tell certain people things because it works against you. This is not lying it is guarding. We don’t live in a safe world and no people who are not in your immediately circle don’t need to know everything about you. It’s different like Mason says. She didn’t talk about secrets but I’ll say this. Secrets are the root of the most hideous lies. Which is way it is something as Gnostics, we do not do. Nothing is hidden about ourselves especially when we have decided we want to make a covenant with another. All is laid out and openly shared. So, let’s remember why secrets are always bad, and that they are different from withholding information about certain things.
