The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing but the Truth. What does that mean in today's world? Where do we stand? Let's talk about it.

I don't know why I didn't post a comment when I started the discussion but here it is

I also know how damaging a lie can be. I went twenty-six years of my life living a lie and I can’t even begin to describe what it did to me. My relationship with my parents was forever tarnished. I was able to somewhat mend things with my mother before she passed away but not my father. I never spoke to him when the truth came out and I have no regret. I was told he had no either which was what finally drove my mother away from him. I have three brothers I don’t talk to either. That is how devastating this lie was, how destructive. It was a lasting destruction and I’m so glad my husband is going to live.

What is happening is really scary. America has a leader and a weak as administration that is attack the agency’s and departments that keep the country safe. I have never seen anything like this. I think it’s time to seriously stand up for right. I’m glad I’m on the right path and that I’m retired.

I’ll add secrets often lead to lies and although Mason said withholding something isn’t lying I’d say it depends on what you are withholding. If what you are withholding can become a lie or lead to a lie keeping secrets, especially serious ones, can cause lying to start.

I have had a lie lead to other lies and watched it destroy everything in it’s wake. I was so glad when the truth finally came out but it did no good. The damage was done and the effects are still present today. I know how devastating some lies can be. All lies are bad but some are really terrible.

There’s nothing like an ugly lie. It’s like cancer. It’s affects can leave you longing for death. It was a horrible experience and like my wife my family and I still bear the scars

nicoli	Yes…I also know how devastating lies can be. Dad lied to mom and it was devastating for every kid our dad fathered. I also had a love in my early twenties. She really did a number on me. I vowed to never get involved in a serious relationship again. The truth was painful but it was liberating and going forward I have no intentions of letting lies interfere with my life again.

I know I was made stronger after I learned the truth. It was a treacherous road but the truth did set me free. And I learned from the experience. I stand for truth, morality, and integrity.
