Okay…I so respect President Obama. I respect the man that he is. I respect his bravery. I respect his ability to stand fast and not be moved. He is honorable, and a shining example of what integrity in an individual means. None of us is perfect but Obama comes pretty damn close. He is everything a leader needs to be, and these qualities can’t be found in a wealthy individual. Why? Because they only value what is tangible. They have no regard, respect, or concern for anything or anyone that does not increase what they value.
I can say these things because I am a well off man and I do not belong in a position where I have to be considerate of many others. I am learning to value life more than I value that which is tangible and part of that healing is in the sharing of what I have been so richly blessed with. It is not always easy to share. My biggest problem in life is to have a given heart. My first mind is, I don’t want anyone dipping into my wallet spending my money. As I age I have made provisions for my children as my father did all of his children, the rest, I force myself to share. Adonai has allowed me to have what I have to see what I will do with what I have been blessed with. I don’t intend to let him down.
For this reason Trump will not make a good president. He does not know empathy. All he knows is that which is monetary. He is not the man Obama is because that which is monetary strips away ones need to be anything more than wealthy. In the hearts and minds of the wealthy they are right simply because of their financial status. They are the Privilege, and that very privilege denies one the ability to walk in anothers shoes. To show compassion. To even think, most of the time, about those who are homeless, hungry, and sick.
I am fortunate enough to have walked among those less fortunate than me and it has humbled me. How? Why? Because it first shocked me that people actually exist in such impoverished, impecunious conditions. But knowing by sight is not enough. I also know I’m going back to my privilege life of splendor. A president can’t think that way, ever. This is where Bush failed. He sent all those young people off to a war for his own gain and so many died because he had no regard for their lives. Felt no need to value them, but he knows better now. It’s not his fault. He was born into a life that strips those like us of the ability to value all lives. To see all life is important and know that everyone matters. It is the same with White America. They do not have the ability to really appreciate all life is just as valuable as theirs and those they love. They haven’t been placed in a position to see how much damage they have done to fellow humans based on something as STUPID as skin tone.
It took a black man becoming president to show us what it means to have integrity, to lead with honor, to appreciate all lives no matter what their skin tone, their sexual orientation, their sexual preferences, their religious beliefs and/or their financial status. WOW!!!
I too have decided to speak up and out and I will not support any form of oppression in any way. I admire all those who have made the same choices.
