I have a couple law enforcement clients, and I have to say it’s some of the things they see while at work. It’s not always about giving out tickets and high-speed chases. The bad officers also take a toll because it makes the good ones look bad and people tend to blame all officers for the behaviors of a few. That in itself is becoming very stressful.

It was also very stressful for dad. I think it drove him to drink. He was a happy drunk most of the time. But he could also be physically abusive toward mom. I Never understood why Dad chose to be a police officer. He didn't have to work. I guess he wanted to feel he had some independence from MG.

I'll add this, with this being such a stressful profession by nature, some people should never be considered for this type of position. My father should not have been given a badge.
